This leather fire bucket honors Cyrus Keay, who joined the Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine company in June of 1871. He was a lifetime member of the company, and the oldest surviving member at his death in April of 1930. Keay was born in Bowdoinham to Thomas C. and Lovina Barnes Kay; the family moved to Topsham when Cyrus was nine. He is buried in Riverview Cemetery in Topsham.
The Androscoggin Fire Company of Topsham was created to operate the 1850 hand engine which was active in Topsham until 1919. After that time, and until the 1970s, it was used in, and won, numerous fire muster competitions.

This trophy was awarded to the Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine company of Topsham for taking first place at the hand engine muster in Bath on July 5, 1875. Muster competitions were judged on how far the engine could deliver a stream of water. The Androscoggin won with a stream of 172 feet, six inches. The engine foreman was Daniel A. Hall. The pipemen were Alden Q. Goud and Caleb Ridley.
The award is in the form of a small silver speaking trumpet. Similar to a megaphone, speaking trumpets were used by engine foremen to yell directions to the fire company. This one is engraved with flower designs.

The Androscoggin No. 2 is an 1850 hand engine, serial #385, built by William C. Hunneman & Co. of Massachusetts. It was purchased to replace an earlier Hunneman bucket tub. Often referred to as "Little Andy," it is a smaller class B machine.
Purchased at the Springfield Exposition, it arrived in Topsham on April 17, 1850, and was the active fire fighting machine in the town until 1920. It was then used by the Androscoggin Veteran Firemen's Association in musters in the New England Veteran Firemen's League. "Little Andy" was a top prize money winner in the league, and class champion several times. The engine has a record play (stream of water) of 226 feet, 3/4 inches.

This white and blue silk ribbon was provided to members of Topsham's Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine muster team at the New England League Firemen's Muster held at Hampton, New Hampshire, on August 29, 1965. Clarence "Bud" Colby served as the team foreman for the large muster, which drew multiple regional teams.
"Andy" was the nickname for the Androscoggin, a Class B hand-pumper engine built by Hunneman and delivered to the Topsham Fire Department in 1850. It was used in active service until 1919. After that and until the 1970s, it was used only in muster competitions. It now sits on display at the Topsham Fire Department on Main Street.
